The money

How verdicts are made
Scores come from the published rubric at how we review and nowhere else. Tools without affiliate programs are scored with the same rubric and ranked in the same lists. A LEAVE IT verdict on a paying partner publishes unsoftened; if that ends a partnership, that is the cost of the page being worth reading.
Samples, loans, and access
Every score on this site today is a desk review: we score from app store listings, developer documentation, published prices and feature pages, and each review carries the Desk review (provisional) flag. We have not bought, borrowed or been loaned any product to score it yet. When a tool moves to hands-on testing, the review will say how we got it (bought, borrowed from a library, a free tier or trial, or a loan or gift from the maker), and the scoring is the same either way. Scores, ranks and verdicts come only from the rubric. Featured modules sit outside scored tables and verdict panels and never change a score, a rank or a verdict.
Prices and dates
Every price carries the date it was checked. Subscription prices on high-traffic pages recheck monthly. Where a price has not been verified for this build, the page says "Price not verified" rather than showing a number we cannot stand behind. The same rule governs measurements: Time to First Page reads "Not yet measured" until the protocol has run.
Confidence and re-scoring
Reviews are flagged Hands-on tested, Desk review (provisional), or Community-sourced with the number of reports stated. Provisional scores are published because a stated, well-reasoned assessment beats silence, and they will be revised if we test the tool hands-on, with the change logged in the page's changelog.
Corrections
Every fix we make is logged in the changelog at the bottom of the page it changes, with the date. Silent edits to substance are not acceptable here. See contact for how corrections work today.
What we refuse to publish
Invented measurements, invented prices, invented study citations, medical advice, and confident claims about ADHD that the evidence cannot carry. Health and treatment questions belong with a clinician; see the medical disclaimer.
